Our 6th grade field trip to Sly Park is planned for the week of October 25-29, 2010. The cost will be $285 per student, which covers food, lodging, transportation and activities for five days. If you'd like to learn more about Sly Park and its program, please take a moment to check out their website at www.scoe.net/slypark/

We realize this is a large investment for any family, so in order to help spread the cost, we have put together a payment plan, which is detailed below. Additionally, you will be able to use a credit card to pay for the Sly Park trip by using the PayPal service below. We hope this will help alleviate the strain of having to come up with the tuition all at once. We are committed to letting ALL interested sixth graders have the Sly Park experience, regardless of family finances. If the trip’s expense will cause a financial burden for your family, please speak to either of the 6th grade teachers, or Mrs. Huffines, to work out an alternative arrangement.

To avoid any payment confusion, the tuition must be paid in full and checks must clear prior to Friday, October 15, 2010.

Sierra has a great opportunity to make additional funds at no additional cost to the school or to the families that participate in the scrip program.

What is Scrip?
Sierra buys Scrip (gift cards) from Great Lakes Scrip Center.  Sierra gets to purchase the gift cards from the Scrip center at a discounted price and then sells the gift cards for the face value to the families.  This discount or rebate goes directly to Sierra. 

Why buy Scrip?
In addition or purchasing scrip cards for birthday, Christmas and teacher appreciation gifts, many families purchase the gift cards for their own personal use for their weekly shopping at Wal-Mart, Sam’s Club, Safeway, etc. Gift cards are useful when filling up the family car at ARCO, Shell, Chevron, or when going out to dinner at Chili’s or the Cheesecake Factory.
